This seaside resort, much visited, enjoys a mild climate all year round. In the 1930s, the development of tourism accelerates with the new route of the Adriatic coastal road. The Sikavica brothers built the Slavija, the first hotel in Baška Voda. In 1936, at the World Exhibition in London, the hotel was awarded a gold medal for the comfort of the hotel and the quality of its cuisine. In 1933, a regional society for the beautification of the town worked to give it an elegant appearance, especially along the sea promenade.
