Lakes have always had a magnetic power over people. In the 1990s, during the last war, Imotski lost almost 80% of its population. Many of the refugees stayed on to live in Paris. Today, many return to the region in the summer or for large family gatherings. At weddings, after the church ceremony, the community drives to the Red Lake. Everyone will throw a coin in. On the way, they stop to share a drink, a snack and celebrate the event together. The upper town is dominated by a fortress. In the lower town, you can admire beautiful residences (18th century).
