At the foot of Mount Perun, the town lies along the Magistrala road. Extended to the east by a cape(dugi rat in Croatian), the town's heyday was its shipyard. An old factory, built on the town's most attractive site, was demolished in preparation for the site's total rehabilitation. Today, the town's inhabitants benefit from the financial windfall brought by summer tourism, thanks to its superb beach and seasonal rentals.
