About ten kilometers from Wadi Musa, on the Kings' Road towards Wadi Rum, lies the village of At-Taybeh. If tourists come here, it is to stay in the amazing Hayat Zaman Hotel which has taken up residence in the old 19th century village. It has of course been renovated to offer a 5* experience to its guests. Much less known, but equally interesting, is the Nabatean pottery workshop, which reproduces traditional designs on clay vases and pots. As you drive away from Petra, the view from the road is stunning. Be sure to stop and take pictures of the eternal jebels.
