The last Israeli enclave, returned by Israel in 1989, serves as a border post between the two countries. The village of Taba has only officially existed since the early 20th century. Here, the resort's accommodation facilities blend pleasantly into the unspoilt natural setting: desert, cinnamon-colored mountains and a sea ideal for swimming and diving. The resort is very popular with Israelis, who come to enjoy the casino and water sports. The town also has an airport.
