This site, located 7 km north of the ancient city, is often called Small Petra. If she is far from competing with her large neighbour, she is still worth half a day. There is a narrow 350 m long parade, known as the "cold canyon" (Siq Al-Barid) because of the high walls preventing sunlight from warming. This passage then leads to a series of wider spaces. The first is a temple. The second consists of four tricliniums, where the merchants may stop on the road to Petra. A little further on the left, a staircase leads to the painted House, one of the few painted interior intérieurs has survived the time, although it is very damaged. At the end of the Siq, stairs will take you to a point of view. You can go to the Sid Al-Barid from the lower town of Petra, or from the Visitors Center (follow a path behind the Crown Plaza Guesthouse, which winds along the Wadi al-Ulayqua, which is dry). The colors of the rocks are among the most wonderful in the region. You will need a guide. By car, take the road north of the Hotel Moëvenpick and follow the signs Al-Qubba. On the first line, turn left and continue for 1 km. By taxi, count 10 Djs, waiting time included, and possibly a stop at El-Wue castle.
