Travel Guide Ribeira Quente

An impression of the end of the world when you arrive at Ribeira Quente... And it's not just an impression, as the road ends here! To set off again, you'll have to turn back. It is a typical fishermen's hamlet which deserves a visit for the charms of its sandy beach, the Praia do Fogo, relatively lonely. At the very end of the town, it is nevertheless lively in the summer (the size of the car park says a lot). The road leading there from Furnas, framed by torrents of ferruginous water, is lined with lush vegetation. There is not a tourist in winter, of course, and yet the port is always very active; there is indeed a lot of chicharros fishing.
