The small town of Rhinau lies on the banks of the Rhine, and its free self-propelled ferry makes it easy to cross into neighboring Germany. In busy periods, the ferry runs continuously, and in normal periods, every quarter of an hour. The ferry is used by local residents for their daily commute and by the many visitors to the Europa Park theme park. In town, take a look at the Gothic choir of St. Michael's Church, dating from 1519. It's one of the few remaining vestiges of the historic city. And don't miss the flat-bottomed boat trips on Rhinau Island, the Brunnwasser and the Taubergiessen.
