Some dishes of the blackboard are of summer, with homemade ham on the bone, a squid terrine that you don't see anywhere else. Coming up next, a French lamb stew with sweet spices and dry fruit, minced beef with red and citronella curry served with rice or a beautiful grilled flank and its fries. A healthy restoration and sustainable development, locavorism and seasonal market products, all with respect for health, good eating and good humor for happy consumers. It's a bit angelic, but it works perfectly at Øslow. Vegetarians and veggies welcome, but others are not forgotten with beef tartare, coriander pesto and green lemon to give peps to your plate. Workers, workers (please do not remind anyone?) and all those who wish to make a nice meal in this semi-pedestrian area between Guichard Square and Les Halles Paul Bocuse, here is a brewery that has taken our attention this year. A nice terrace with large umbrellas in a pleasant passage, wine cellar behind the counter and room with the current tones to offer us a map ready to satisfy all appetites, especially those - and they are many - lovers of tartars. La Brasserie de la Bourse offers the only "tartare bar" of the city with a dozen tartars on the menu. Quality meat for a tartar cut to the knife to savour according to its style: Lyonnais, Italian, Spicy, Japanese, Thai, Fresca (grapefruit, cucumber, green apple, dill, shallot and lemon juice: excellent), Tropical, Asian, South or Indian. There is even a tasting plate to taste a maximum. Salads, traditional dishes of brasserie (frites fries, chef of the chef) and more original dishes (magret of cherry cherry duck, bream filet, candied lemon, vinegar of raspberry) to the desserts with a carrot tartar and ginger, lemon foam, nougatine to the coriander seed. The Old Lyon is full of surprises to discover following the Smart. A novelty not to be missed in this superb rue des Trois-Maries, less traffic than Saint John Street, but more authentic. The MDB is a "coffee counter - wine cellar" as was in their own way the bouchons lyonnais. A friendly place where one comes first for the pleasure of sharing a good glass around a good dish. It is simple, we do not take the lead and we are happy to follow the slogan of the house: " Wood, eat and relax ". It must be said that Laurent, the boss, is particularly nice, that the places are really warm and that the card, served at every hour and varies according to the seasons, allows to accompany the very nice selection of wine from here and elsewhere (see our wine bar section). Of course, there is the charcuterie and the cheeses served on slate, but there is also the Gras foie gras, the quality Alsace quiches (fresh received), a beef tartar with a knife or a beef carpaccio also with a salad and a potato potato. It is a much more elegant and gourmet appointment than it appears at first sight. First advantage, the reception that is really charming to make us enjoy a nice terrace or a room composed of objects all right out of the 1970 s. Little privacy in a noisy environment at lunchtime is a little quieter in the evening to enjoy a generous home made kitchen. " Lyonnaiseries "," masculine "dishes such as this excellent tartar or this beautiful rib of beef, but also more" feminine "dishes such as these well-composed salads, fresh fish of the day, or this impériales risotto and imperial gambas. Desserts also house with a well-inspired chef. An address that was not yet referenced by the Smart, but which deserves it.

The least we can write is that if this restaurant is not still unanimously appreciated, it has rectified its situation since our last not very rave reviews. Setting did not change and steps from Musée d'Art Moderne, the room is modern in white and red tone to highlight fluid forms, including this staircase leading to the mezzanine. The terrace overlooking the amphitheatre, sheltered by large parasols, offers a pleasant refuge. The point of improvement is both services, more responsive and friendly at the time of our visit, and the cuisine that will never be that of Mathieu Viannay, Christophe Marguin or Frédéric Berthod, three chefs combined in the business, but a good cuisine in a brasserie way with some gourmet refinement as extra. On an well-stuffed menu, a Marmande tomato tartare served with a half ball of real di bufalo mozzarella, pesto and condiments, a whole grilled fish according to the arrival, lobster salad, risotto worthy of this name or a roast veal sweetbreads in casserole, before enjoying the famous creamy chocolate fondant. Fine wine list for an address that move on top in our selection list.

Reading Futé is essential to find addresses like L'Essentiel. Within walking distance from the Garibaldi metro station, this local restaurant, which excellent reputation is famous, is not however the most visible of all, in a quiet rue Rachais allowing the shaded terrace to be classified among the most pleasant ones. L'Essentiel is not only the quality of the cuisine and the freshness of the products coming from local shopkeepers, even if that plays a great part there. It is also the reception of Vincent Cavazolli and his brother's whole team which welcome us under the best conditions at lunchtime like at dinnertime. In a warm room, where we can play on a Vegas style slot machine to gain a bottle, and a friendly atmosphere, we benefit from one of the very best value for money in the city. You have to know that the lunchtime option is at €13.50 (starter, main course and dessert) and €15 at dinnertime! A strock of luck for budgets of those who want to eat well. The à la carte follows the seasons and there again, the low prices does not affect the quality of the products. Beautiful variation of burgers, including an Essentiel with foie gras and duck breast or a Lyonnais with Saint-Marcellin cheese and diced bacon, huge mixed salads, and a meat selection, from the roasted rib eye steak to the lamb shank with garlic via the beef tartare (€12.50 for 180g of meat, a record). An Essentiel which is open to your requests for privatisation and gives life to your projects to organise a musical evening or else (a room which can accommodate up to 70 people with buffet or meal). No doubt, you have to go to L'Essentiel.

A quite trendy address, highlighting - but it is not an innovation for the Bistro - our best local produce. At Comptoir, it is the more contemporary idea of "snacking" that appears. But a high range snacking, not in the service, since you have to go to the counter to get your orders, but the quality of the dishes proposed. Fabulous homemade charcuterie and foie gras of the same barrel, white ham with truffle or raw Iberian ham Bellota, salmon Tartar, cheeses from Lassagne perfectly refined with the cut... The slate continues to please our tastebuds. Frankly, we enjoy it, even if the prices are consequently. The other happiness of the place, it is that this address could also appear in our Bars à vins section. More than 200 wine by the glass references served at good temperature, here they propose to drink less (well for those who want it...) but better (for everyone!). Warm setting, friendly team, quality ingredients, this Comptoir understands all of our urban desires turned towards the countryside. Futé likes it.

And if it is empty, it means that it was filled with good things at the mealtime. In summer slate menu, a Caesar salad, a Limoux flank steak with shallot and its sautéed apples, beef tartare, a pistachio in sausage sauce with wine and a caponata in Sicilian way, before treating yourself with a simple strawberry dish. The whole accompanied by a good bottle (or just one glass) of Burgundy duly chosen or of a Côtes-du-Rhône wine of the owner. Homemade dishes and table d'hôte, fine wine and good food, every effort is made so that you feel at ease, even if you have a nice moustache. Let's get lost at Chez Plumeau!

A "néo-bourgeoise" Maison where senior executives play petanque before lunch. The interior enjoys a contemporary design by François Dumas. Beautiful, simple and contemporary, intimate, cosy, comfortable and refined, a real success. As for the cuisine, chef Laurent Vernet takes pleasure in reinventing the “gastronomic brasserie” with the seasons. Freshness and flavour of traditional dishes revisited with beautiful touches of originality. You will find on the à la carte menu small shrimp spring rolls with Thai basil sauce, grilled aubergine “by Josper” and vitello pesto rosso. Veal chop in pastry with Parmesan, a timeless classical beef tartare, 7-hour cooked lamb shoulder or a whole farm-bred duck fillet with stuffed with Parma with spice sauces. This year, it is a bit of revolution, especially in the "heart" of the street, on the "old" side (you will notice that the Saone side of rue Mercière is much older than the Rhone side, transformed at the opening of the Peninsula main streets). Among the newest, the Fiston. This "fiston (son)" is Julien Dargaud, fell into the cauldron of the kitchen from his childhood. In a place tastefully decorated by Pierre Chaduc, the Fiston offers a traditional, tasty and inexpensive cuisine... All you need to be delighted without resistance. Close to Jean Macé station, on a quiet street, the Counter Jayet offers an invitation to take its time to enjoy the beautiful inner terrace, sheltered from any agitation. The room is not bad either, with its nice counter where one likes to linger, and the kitchen has nothing to hide. Little caveat on the day of our visit, a little overloaded service - yet we were not many - and a charming young girl between the kitchen, the room and the terrace. The card is season, with a formula of the day served midday and evening - it is rare - and fresh quality products cooked home by a passionate chef. On the day's menu this summer a little too hot, a Tatin of tomatoes in balsamic vinegar, mozzarella, little provençal stuffed, to finish with a burnt cream with a scent of lavender. It's cool and it's good! The Counter also offers gourmet suggestions: sweet salad in duck fatty liver, smoked magret, gizzard conflict and mesclun to walnut oil, charolais beef tartar, fresh fries or a unravelled of raie line à to the shallot. Le Dandy's asset is first of all the welcome and the perfect service. Wide opening hours, but mostly great smiles and a real passion of the welcome team which may even touch an expert accountant. There is always room in this great Dandy, on the terrace or in the room that hides some secrets (especially during lively evenings), which has managed to update a carefully crafted brasserie menu. This summer, salads (Caesar, Gourmande, Perigordine, Pêcheur…) have had our preference, but the eggs in Burgundy red wine sauce can delight us in any season. A rather short menu for a brasserie, but guarantees the quality of the dishes: Dandy Burger, pan-fried beef filet with morel sauce, a whole fish of the day roasted with virgin olive oil, a fisherman's risotto, Lyon specialities like an andouillette gratin served with her gratin Dauphinois or a calf's liver seasoned with parsley. Fresh fruit salad, a delicious gourmet coffee and homemade ice-cream. Interesting wine list. Meal, drink, afterwork and even evening party, Le Dandy won the bet and is part of the gourmet countryside landscape.

There is no doubt that the "pasta bar" concept is a good idea for children - we often demand it - than adults who do not have time, or the means, or even envy, to settle in a traditional restaurant. Nooï, which is to be delivered to you, has close to 50 franchised establishments in the hexagon and attracts young people from nearby high school as well as a larger public in search of a good quality meal. It should be said that with menus from 5,30 € for an average ticket below 10 €, Nooï offers, in a colourful and pleasant setting, a fast service, a high quality raw material and attractive rates, especially at the time of a busy lunch. But what happens in the proposed two-size boxes, 750 and 920 (to make a big bite!)? Pasta cooked "al dente", sauces to choose from a dozen (pesto, bollywood, crazy cheezy, so fish so good…) and ingredients like cheeses. There is a drink and/or dessert (donuts, brownie, panacotta, tiramisu…) and a cheap menu, more balanced than fast food, will give us energy for the rest of the day or night! And when you have to choose, you have to follow Futé at Les Compères, undoubtedly one of the best "plans" of the sector. Beautiful terrace sheltered by a small vegetable hedge, terrace that extends towards the small park on the other side of the building. A cosy bistro-style which readily immerses us in a time that those under 20 years old cannot know. Warm welcome, even in case of crowds, or every Sunday for lunch -practical, Les Compères are open every day for lunch- when the rest of the neighbourhood is quiet. Homemade cuisine made with seasonal products and dishes available on the slate for all desires: Lyonnaise tart with sausage and Saint-Marcellin cheese, Crêtoise Salad for freshness, Croustade des carnivores or salmon tartare with dill for starter. Charolais beef tartare with razor clam, scallops cake with smoked salmon and spinaches or a bell pepper stuffed with beef and poultry. You can sweetly end with a chocolate fondant or a homemade pie. Friendly wine list. An address that opens for dinner according to the schedule of the shows at the Bourse du Travail.

At the end of the beautiful footbridge facing the law courts, benefiting from a new terrace on Quai de Saone, Buvette Saint-Antoine is not really a recent address, since it has been the "Lyon inhabitants' meeting place" since 1872! Yes, but, it's a place which we have abandoned in favour of the new banks of the Rhone which offer a more pleasant setting all the same, let's admit it. As time goes by, the banks of Saône was restored at the same time as this famous Bar which has found a new lease of life. On summer evenings, open-air café atmosphere with music and well-served seafood, but still pleasant snacks with salads which are largely worth others, ideal boards to accompany an aperitif, like this whole sausage or toasted spread available according to all the desires, without forgetting the ice-creams and the beautiful drink menu and a wide range of champagne. There are many "all inclusive" package to enjoy on the Quai de Saône within a very nice atmosphere.

Le Grand Café Lyonnais is first of all a place at the corner of rue des Marronniers and rue de la Barre opening onto the huge place Bellecour. The terrace is not the most attractive in the neighbourhood, but you can sit inside to discover the cuisine of a chef we know, Roger Jaloux. One of the Meilleurs Ouvriers de France 1976 (and member of the Toques Blanches) does what he does best: a bourgeois cuisine learned at Paul Bocuse where he officiated for nearly 40 years (it was one of the first apprentices with other great names of the Lyonn cuisine like Marguin or Orsi). In short, the chef knows his business and allows gourmands - and the several tourists roaming the neighbourhood - to revisit the Lyon classics: poached eggs in meurette way, pike quenelle, andouillette braised with shallot, without forgetting the sauerkraut coming straight from Gast's. You conclude with a waffle like Grand'Mère's and its chocolate cream and Chantilly cream. An establishment open with wide schedule, where you can quench your thirst before roaming the streets and prolonging the break.

See no kind of jealousy on our part, we like beautiful things. But when most of the place de Lyautey seems to be privatized only for the pleasure of some drinkers of luxury rosé, it bothers us! Eating is delicate and the "fresh" in seasonal menu are only of the name: Caprese salad, Terrace du Pond burger, cod loin. What is more annoying is the bad reception they reserve for those who are not regulars, until they realize that they are not welcome or ignoring them... In short, an address to avoid, even in dream location!

Announcing "Aperitivo, restaurant and club", Casa Bianca happily plays on the three blackboards, opening its doors in wide opening hours so that we can benefit from its beautiful terrace or a dining room - we could say several dining rooms - of impressive dimensions, for a long time. Moments to share with friends in an increasingly festive atmosphere as the day (and the evening with a club closing at 4 am) progresses. At lunchtime, suggestions on the blackboards according to the market and the inspiration of the chef. Known for a long time in the old Charlemagne district (becoming since then the new Confluence district), the Midi Minuit brasserie was set up in the heart of the Presqu'île (the peninsula), Rue de la République, two years ago. And that's why, one Sunday of balances opening, your favourite Petit Futé was sitting at a brasserie, one of the very few restaurants open in the sector with so wide opening hours! First good point, Midi Minuit has kept a large part of the superb decoration of the place by tastefully vegetating it. In addition, a small terrace sheltered from the passageway as a bonus. As for the service, we felt the intent to do well, some degree of efficiency and the attempts to smile behind a stained blouse, but let's say there is still room for improvement. The most amazing thing is undoubtedly the cuisine. A true short menu (problem, more salmon steak…) and dishes home cooked by a chef who holds up. Some snacks and flammekueches (that could be avoided), giant salads, but above all a lamb shoulder confit in its pearl juice, a duck breast and fig chips or a royal sea bream fillet in almond crumble. All is done at honest rates. Desserts slightly lower for the quality and slightly higher for the rates (a floating island with citruses a little bit tough at €7). In a nutshell, the address of République has pleasantly surprised us, even though some adjustments still need to be made.

We never think enough about the Rue du Plat. A few steps from Bellecour, in a quiet area between the urban shopping of the peninsula and the tourist visits of Old Lyon, in the immediate vicinity of the Saône and its boats, here is a welcome address: The Insert. A magnificent place, leaving beautiful old stones, in a contemporary spirit half nature - raw wood - "half-undue", to offer us a quality market of quality. We feel very quickly at Julien Chazot, the young chef, and his accomplice Xavier Guillien, who receive us in all friendliness in their establishment. Terrace if time allows for a "café chouquette" at noon or tapas in the evening (with cold meats, ham, freshly baked, Frais, bogeyman revisited). Superb room to enjoy a glass of wine perfectly selected by Xavier, old of Harmony des Vins. In kitchen, Julien "transforms fresh products" according to his own words. As much as the producers are also sorted on the part for a real "cooking of the moment", realized in the morning according to the day market. It's impossible to tell you what you can enjoy during your visit, but have found cleared poultry livers with white balsamic vinegar, followed by a paupiette of stuffed poultry, fresh condiments, to finish with a beggar crumbled, red fruits and caramel. It's cool, it's good, it's beautiful, more than a restaurant, a real gourmet address.

For the Stagehands, Diplomatico does not mention that a wonderful rum from Venezuela, even if the bar of this beautiful house prepares - the cocktail card had just changed during our visit - delicious drinks based on this famous rum whose name is confused with the sign. In Lyon, Le, it is also and above all a brewery that has no doubt that it occupies a privileged location. Therefore, in front of the footbridge leading straight to Old Lyon and the courthouse, Le opens on the banks of Saône in the heart of the peninsula, making its terrace a real "spot" to enjoy all the charms of Lyon. A beautiful house created by two Lyon, Franck Hamouilli and Jean-David Perthuis (who also made the success of nearby Bar Saint-Antoine), Le does not lack charm or flavour. Seasonal cooking with good prepared products, all served on beautiful plates. Brasserie in the air of time, neither too busy nor too much "Lyon". Smart recommends the suggestions of the day to vary the pleasures. Wine and alcohol menu - including excellent cocktails - so to prolong the pleasure of being at Diplomatico.
