And they are many… To avoid any mistake, you read Futé and you discover Chez Louise. The place is worth the detour. Now, you settle down on the most beautiful place in Vieux Lyon, one of the very few original, on the cobblestones of the historic place du Change where was formerly held all Lyon fairs, facing the magnificent Temple du Change and at the foot of one of the most beautiful residences of the city, the Thomassin house that dates back to the 13th century. Here, you are in the heart of a Lyon postcard. The rooms of Chez Louise come to complete this marvelous Lyon postcard with a typical and traditional decor of a bouchon lyonnais. Guignol welcomes us among the frescoes and the numerous objects that are almost quite impossible to discover. The à la carte menu offers us all the specialities that have made the reputation of Lyon traditional cuisine. Let's start with the Salade lyonnaise, the gratin with onions, sausage in brioche served hot with its steamed potatoes. Then parsley seasoned frogs, calf's head, andouillette drawn by the string with mustard sauce, black pudding with apples, tablier de sapeur or poultry cake with aubergine caviar and its tomato coulis. The other delights of the house are the whole duck breast served with its reduced honey sauce or a nice fish trio (bream, cod and red mullet) with lobster sauce. An address that has taken some time to enter our guide, but we can no longer separate after having tasted. André Melkonyan offers us in his eponymous restaurant a cuisine with the Mediterranean flavours in a room tastefully decorated, where you can feel well at noon with work colleagues, and in the evening with your lover. Daily special carefully prepared in the well-presented dishes and the menu with oriental flavours, with a preference for Armenian cuisine that offers us excellent keuftés, slightly spicy meatballs, with a traditional bulgur. As a starter at €4.50: tabbouleh, vine leaves stuffed with rice and tarama, with an Azur plate that gathers all for €10. For the main course, we recommend a whole aubergine stuffed with meat and finally, the noodles or a famous Greek yoghurt with honey or confit violet petals... Simply adorable service for a really exotic address.

For how long did you not hear the tiger roar? No, not the one that is supposed to be in your engine, but the one on your plate! Smart has rediscovered Tiger Wok from Gerland. An address that has experienced long months of work for a renaissance that redefines a concept that already began to take age on an ultra-competitive market. The terrace is now isolated from the bustle of the street, the room benefits from a peaceful Asian atmosphere and natural materials… In short, everything is done to make us forget a neighbourhood where one comes mainly at noon for business and evening for football matches. What does not change too much is the map, of course keeping the principle of wok, decreasing its buffet offer in a choice of vegetables, meat and fish. The recipe does not date yesterday and it is quite healthy and good. Also, a few dishes to vary pleasures: Udon noodles, coconut saté, US burger (one needed one), salads, for termienr with creamy creamy cream waffles. Not what to jump to the ceiling, but an exotic set that keeps the road.

At Le Petit Carron, you feel "like home". In a cosy dining room, on the mezzanine or on the charming summer terrace, you can enjoy a top quality traditional French cuisine, a refined cuisine which, mastering its classic dishes, adds a slight touch of liveliness on a wide fish and meat list: homemade foie gras in mendiant way, farmhouse bread or a salmon marinated with herbs and langoustine oil; then, a pan-fried veal cutlet with chanterelles, a crusty sweetbread with simple truffle juice, a beef fillet with morels or a Rossini cod loin. Always interesting suggestions of season and slate of sweets, including the famous "Redoutable", the homemade dessert par excellence with its molten chocolate. A smart address rocked by blues notes.

It was in 1954 that Vital Pignol, a young boy from Saint-Etienne, set up a cake shop at the 17 of Rue Emile Zola, right next to the emblematic Place Bellecour. At this "historic" address, Pignol offers us a cake shop, but also a restaurant on the two floors of the Pignol family's former flat! All in all, four different rooms, from the bistro atmosphere to the kitchen via the intimate lounge, to enjoy seasonal dishes that are different every day - such as this perch fillet in the heart of summer -, well composed salads with fresh produce, and of course, the wonderful homemade pastries. An address that is part of the city's gourmet heritage.

A gourmet opus for the series of Martine with Bistro Martine. In the heart of the neighbourhood of Ainay, just a few steps from the borough hall - moreover, you can still read Café de la Mairie engraved on the building's façade - this neighbourhood bistro opens its terrace onto a quiet street corner. Bistro Martine is one of the best surprises when you discover an area stingy with its warm and family addresses that make the reputation of Lyon. Then, you can sit on the terrace, in the middle of the flowers, as soon as summer arrives or in a dining room enlivened by a lovely counter with a discreet charm. A friendly atmosphere, smile guaranteed at every hour of the day, and especially at lunchtime where guests like to be around Martine to enjoy a good homemade cuisine with fresh seasonal products, just as it was done in the past. On this summer's menu, beef nose salad (which still makes it?), a melon, raw ham and mozzarella or a cold-cuts platter. Coming up next, homemade lasagna, grilled mackerel fillets, a beef tartare with razor clam or ravioli with cheese. A beautiful dessert menu, also homemade, and wine list accordingly. A wonderful neighbourhood address that should be a school.

After the Mercière rue brasseries, why not try to change an Italian brasserie? Built in the luxurious Sofitel hotel, Silk benefits from the tranquillity of the places, yet only steps from Place Bellecour and the hyper-centre of the peninsula. A both classic and completely atypical place with its decor that immerses us in the universe "vintage" of the 70s to the brilliant colours on a neutral background and in the universe of silk (which gives the name to the establishment). Between chic bistro, elegant brasserie and elegant restaurant, Silk is for everyone and not only the 5-star hotel high profile clientele. Best-in-class, refined and convivial service, beautiful home which is really hospitable, and a high quality cuisine which also fluctuates between the brasserie tradition with oysters, a Lyon salad, a famous 100% beef tartare, homemade burgers, one of which is truffle or a fresh salmon tartar, and the nice food service with roasted cod fillet, delicious roasted scallops or a rack of lamb and its pan-fried seasonal vegetables. Mother Richard cheese and a vanilla brioche with speculoos ice-cream. Other must-eat of the house: the omelet as you want it and the terrible chicken Sandwich Club. Beautiful wine list, grand crus, for a harmonious wine and meal pairing.

Being at Thomas and the equally famour Tartuffo, trained for the organic pastry by the awesome Frédéric Dujarrier, Julien Panzani welcomes us in the refined setting of Poivron Bleu to present us a sincere, authentic cuisine, an instinctive and loyal cuisine. A 100% homemade cuisine really prepared with fresh quality products from local producers and craftsmen clearly stated. The eggs are organic, the meats come from France, the fruit juices from Thurins, the cheeses from Jean-Charles Roux and the wines from small producers working in organic and sustainable agriculture are chosen with Stéphane Péroz, Cave des Charpennes. In short, excellent ingredients to implement all the fantasies of a chef who likes to change the recipes to present us a revisited grand-mother's cuisine, offering a simple, seasonal menu, totally delicious, like a duckling fillet of Dombes, red wine and cherry sauce, crusty polenta and arugula, farm pork shoulder from Ain with verbena lemon and or pan-fried whiting fillet and its smashed potato. The ice-creams are homemade. Adorable reception and service. A new Futé address which already keeps all its promises.

A rare address, exclusivity that cannot be recommended to everyone. Here is a Lyon institution, a day of daily contemplation for the heads of the TP (public works for the illiterate), some well-informed lyon personalities and those who want to pass their business meals. The refined garden gets a fee every year and Huguette has been on the orders since… A loyal clientele and the new generation that comes to this landmark where everyone is welcome. Original, the table reserved for lonely people who can find other solitary people and end up doing business together! The card is not given and one comes for the entrance trolley and a bowl of beef tails to get mad, traditional and bulky market kitchen. It is that these good eaters should be fed: buffet of starters near will with jésus and pistachio sausage, lentils, potato salad and olive herring; to be followed, sapper apron, roasted pork feet, boudin to both apples, calf liver, veal rib or beef fillet. A completely atypical address where one can touch a microcosm of 100% Lyon.

Futé has often regretted that the Place Ambroise Courtois is not much frequented during other occasions other than traditional market. A new terrace opening onto the Villa Lumière and a new address offering us a good reason to change our habits and to go on this side of the square to discover the kids (Les Gamins). Let's bear in mind that, during our visit in summer, everything seemed not to be well in their right place yet - especially in the kitchen - but the good will of young people was pleasing to see - especially the service which offered us a glass of cider to compensate a prolonged waiting time. An address to follow, but nice intentions which can be noticed first by the reading of a menu written on school notebook paper displaying many kinds of homemade cakes and pancakes made with good products. On the table of honour, the "best specialities" and recommendations of the Kids, such as this "butter/sugar/lemon" with good salt crystals of a Breton butter. Several ciders, a Breton Saint-Dove beer, an excellent coffee by Voisin and craft café from Pedone. Verdict: can still make progress, but a good start on the right track for the kids who give new lease of life for place a bit sleepy. Cheers! 

On the Place Voltaire, colourful flower pots on a beautiful workbench that has become a table to share, vegetables that grow around a nice terrace and an Assiette sur la Place that invites us to return if the weather is not part of the game. Inside, a bistro (the tables, the chairs, the friendly atmosphere), a bouchon (the souvenirs that adorn the walls and the small library), a restaurant (the quality of the cuisine) make up a Lyon set with a "girlier" small, cosy corner under the lamp in the window. In short, it is as nice as friendly, a true universe where everyone naturally finds their place. As for the cuisine, a lovely chef who enjoys simmering delicious dishes, like this risotto - a specialty of the house - so delicate to prepare. Seasonal and quality products with, for example, divine Italian truffles generously put on penne in this summer, a treat! Short but "dense" menu with, always in this summer, beautiful and large salads, the famous creamy risotto and " freshly roasted" red-mullet fillets (a wonder), an excellent beef tartare and Lyon specialties with a vinegar chicken thigh or a hot sausage in winemaking way, without forgetting the various forms of ravioles and the suggestions of the day on the slate. Cheese platter served with a fig and walnut jam before the mango mascarpone cream, meringue chips as a homemade dessert. Service as friendly as smiling to spend good moments that will happily prolong in the evening around a tapas dish and a good glass of wine. A nice address to share.
