This commune of 600 inhabitants is made up of four hamlets. It benefits from a large wooded area, numerous ponds and magnificent landscapes. The splendid castle of Saint-Julien dominates the pond of Ry and supervises the access to the plateau by the road coming from Crémieu. This 13th century castle is an old fortified house dating from the previous century. It was partially destroyed during the Revolution. Rebuilt from 1836 by the Countess of Chaponay, we added some elements such as the dungeon, which was in no way in the original buildings. Today it is a private property that cannot be visited.
