This village of the Ain plain shelters two monuments to be seen: the Notre-Dame-de-Lorette de Sainte-Julie chapel, built around the year 1500 at the place where Philippe II of Savoy would have fallen from his horse and would have been seriously injured. Another monument, the castle of Sainte-Julie dates from the 13th century. This ancient stronghold, probably built by Amédée de Coligny, was the centre of the seigneury of Sainte-Julie. It has retained its beautiful medieval appearance. Part of the castle is listed as a Historic Monument: all the facades and roofs, the great hall and the oratory on the first floor with their murals
