Probably less known than Uriage-les-Bains, built below in the valley of the Sonnant, Saint-Martin-d'Uriage is 150 m higher and remains the main town when Uriage is only a hamlet. History is such that a spa has taken precedence over the village of Saint-Martin. Dominating the valley, the medieval castle of Uriage is not visited, except during the heritage days. To take advantage of a preserved natural environment and to discover the vast communal territory (which extends between 320 and 2,200 m of altitude!), it is possible to make a small tour of the hamlets of Saint-Martin-d'Uriage from the town hall.
