A pretty name for a pretty village that has been inhabited for a very long time, at least since the Bronze Age, as evidenced by the remains of settlements from that period found at the entrance to the magnificent Trente Pas Gorge. Our ancestors already cultivated spelt and wheat on these lands and hunted deer and wild boar. On the territory of the commune, a farm-castle of the XIVth century, the ruins of the church of the old village (where there were still inhabitants in 1921). If the sheep farms have progressively disappeared, the goats roam around and their milk allows the production of good cheeses, in this very beautiful environment.
