The hilltop village of Pont-de-Barret, an ancient Gallo-Roman town with a population of 660, is bathed by the Roubion River, which flows down from Mount Angèle. The village is divided into two parts, with the 12th-century Notre-Dame la Brune church, a listed historic monument, on the left bank, and the old village on the hillside on the right bank. Nestled in a mountainous semicircle, it is dominated to the north by Sainte-Euphémie (607 m altitude), to the east by Eson and its site, and the Briesse mountain. The shops, picturesque scenery and warm welcome of the Pontois people are all appreciated, as is the waterside guinguette. There are many hiking trails starting from the village.
