These two villages are known to harbour two jewels of Romanesque religious architecture. The Lespéron Church is a magnificent th century granite building. Its traditional peigne bell tower houses four bells. It was in fact a small priory dependent on the abbey of Saint-Guilhem-le-Desert (Hérault), which illustrates the system of complementary relations within monastic institutions. Leaving the D 108, which runs along the Espezonnette, towards Lanarce, a small road climbs towards Lavillate, a former siege of the Hospitaliers of Saint-Jean-de-Jerusalem Hospital. From the cemetery to the Romanesque church (th century), you can access all the remarkable volcanic and granite tufa.
