On the edge of the Mercoire forest and the Gardille massif, this charming village was on the route of Stevenson and donkey Modestine; He made a step for the night. The village is dominated by an old chapel. The church inherited the two-bays of Mercoire abbey, not far from it. In the forest, at 1 225 m altitude, you can discover the buildings of this former Cistercian abbey of women, which occupied it until the Revolution. The monastery, destroyed for the first time in 1578, was burned in 1773 and finally closed and sold in 1792. Since then, it has been turned into a farm.
