In the heart of the Gras limestone plateau, close to the Ardèche river, this medieval village has many remains of ramparts and fortified gates. The name of Lanas, meaning wool in patois, reminds us that this Mediterranean village was once home to many weavers and many of its houses were magnaneries for silkworm breeding. Walking through its narrow streets, you will discover porches and houses with medieval or Renaissance openings. The Vogüé and the Balazuc lords of the neighbouring villages were in charge of the management of the village under the old regime. To see the chapel and the pond of Lanas
