At the southern end of the Ardèche, in the middle of the garrigues and leaning against the first escarpments of the Cévennes, Banne is a very picturesque village. Banne, a word of Celtic origin, means "summit, needle". This village is labelled Villages of character, and a visit here is enough to make us understand why. Dominated by the ruins of its castle and the medieval quarter, the village offers a unique panoramic view of the entire region, including the famous Païolive woods. Every year, in the village, the Bann'art Festival - singular art, art of today, which takes place in May and which welcomes several dozen artists who exhibit.
