Between the Bugey vineyards and the Ain plain - it is part of the Community of Municipalities -, Lagnieu is known throughout the world for its industries, in particular the Verallia glass factory (ex-Saint-Gobain). During your walks, you can go up to the Cross of Bramafan which culminates at 535 meters above sea level. To see: some vestiges of the old fortified town, the castle of Lagnieu, a neo-Gothic church and the castle of Montferrand, a former fortified house from the end of the 14th century, listed as a historical monument. A refreshing place to be found in Lagnieu: the summer swimming pool, with its 25 m pool, is a listed 20th century heritage site.
