Along the N 12, Saint-Cyr-en-Pail, 500 inhabitants, is one of the municipalities of the Normandie Regional Natural Park located in the region of the Loire region (Mayenne). To be on an important road axis, it contains part of the Natura 2000 site of the Multon Forest, as well as part of the Natura 2000 site of the Forest of the Mint in Javron-les-Chapelles. The town also houses the Château de la Robinière and Saint-Cyr and Sainte-Julitte church, the neogothic church of the nineteenth century. The territory of the park consists of several communes that bring to the credit Saint-Cyr, young Christian martyr of the fourth century and son of Saint Julitte. As for Pail's terminology, which is found just next to Pre-en-Pail, or in Pail or Pail corniche, it derives from the Latin palus, marsh. Saint-Cyr-en-Pail occupies a previously very marshy area and still houses wetlands rich in specific biodiversity.
