Mesquer is the name given to the country when the Angles and the Saxons drove the Bretons out of the British Isles. The latter came to settle on the coast of Armorique. It is the historical center of the town, with the port of Kercabellec which exported salt. Once called the small capital of salt, the town contains many vestiges of the past, such as old houses, especially the "house of heritage" which hosts cultural exhibitions. Mesquer has a tradition of salt production while Quimiac reminds us that the sea is not so far away. Since they are one, the motto of Mesquer-Quimiac is "On land and sea faithful. »
