Few writers have remained insensitive to the charms of what was then, according to Alphonse Daudet, a small lost village. Its privileged location at the extreme west of the peninsula, the beauty of its coasts skilfully torn by the ocean, its typically Breton port, only partly explain its power of seduction. Its long history can be seen in its old and beautiful houses in the narrow streets. Turned towards the open sea, Piriac participated in the adventure of the terre-neuvas and then specialized in herring fishing. Even today, the return of the trawlers remains an attraction, as well as the comings and goings of pleasure boats.
