This tiny village, nestled between the Sarladais and Quercy regions, offers magnificent views over the hills. This land was trodden by our prehistoric ancestors, and the village gave its name to the first Mesolithic age, the Sauveterrien. Sauveterre-La-Lémance is home to a rich museum named after the inventor of the Sauveterrien: Laurent Coulonges, a renowned archaeologist who in the 1920s discovered the remains of the Martinet site, which you can explore on your own. A former industrial town, with its mills, forges and foundries, it's calm and serenity that reigns supreme here today.
