You will find two names for this village: Uzech or Uzech-les-Oules. The history of this village is linked to the work of clay potters for centuries. The toponymy of Les Oules comes from the Occitan word ola which means a clay pot. Until 1956, when the last potter in the village disappeared, all the economic activity of Uzech was based on this craft. For a few decades, the activity was completely abandoned, until the early 1990s when it was reinstated thanks to the intervention of an association of volunteers who love ceramics. Little by little, potters reinvested the village, giving it back its DNA.
