A little riddle: what are the inhabitants of Tour-de-Faure called? The answer is not easy: the Montagnagais and Montagnagaises! To understand this demonym you have to go back to the history of the commune which was formerly called Montanhac, which meant the domain of Montanius. This history mixes for many with that of Christianity. In 1858, for example, an engraved stone was found which would indicate the location of a church in the commune dating from the early days of Christianity. You can admire in Tour-de-Faure a four-storey tower dating from the 18th century, fief of the Faure family in the 15th and 16th centuries who gave it their name.
