Human presence in Saint-Martin-Labouval dates back to the5th century B.C. It would appear that the village was more or less spared from Roman and Germanic invasion. One of the village's outstanding features is to be found in a hamlet within the commune: Toulaznie, annexed to Saint-Martin-Labouval in the early 19th century. Bordered by the River Lot, Toulaznie is made up of semi-troglodyte houses. Between cliffs and water, you can admire man's prowess in transforming his environment into an asset! Tip: park at Cénevières on the other bank, cross the bridge and enjoy the view on foot.
