Welcome to Louis Malle's village. The filmmaker was born in and restored an old manor house in 1966. This manor house, Le Coual, served as the setting for the filming of his highly personal work Black Moon. As you stroll through the little village, you're struck by the charm of the stones, which seem to tell many stories. The village's most striking feature is the entrance to each house. Indeed, all the properties - typical small Quercinois houses - have a gateway with a lintel (most of them made of stone) that gives the village a particular harmony. Lugagnac also boasts a very attractive heritage.
