Montgesty is located on an ancient Roman military camp from the 2nd century A.D., stage of an ancient main road from Montauban. The castle of Crabillé is located there, today a private residence, but which was the home of the sister of Joachim Murat, marshal of the Empire under Napoleon Bonaparte. The charm of the village with its chapel of the Pénitents Bleus and the surrounding nature, full of chestnut trees, are a pleasure for hikers, on foot, on horseback or by bike. On your way, you may come across the Menhir de Courtis, 2,35m high, which legend says was the place of human sacrifices...
