Fortified in the 15th century, Lavercantière was ravaged by the plague in 1506. Its castle, remodeled in the 17th century, is a beautiful site to discover. Also worth a visit are the medieval churches of Saint-Quirin and Saint-Martin. The chapel is believed to be the former hospital chapel. The Frau interpretation trail offers an unforgettable and instructive walk. Nearby, in Rampoux, you can admire a Romanesque church - listed as a Monument Historique - with a square bell tower and corner turrets. The chapel is decorated with superb late 15th-century murals and no less admirable frescoes on the choir vault.
