The history of Fourques dates back to the time when, between the Bronze and Iron Ages, semi-nomadic Gallic tribes settled in this plain of the Garonne. Barbarian and Moorish invasions devastated the region. After a relative calm, came the Hundred Years War which ended in 1453... then the crusades, the Revolution. So many adventures! Today, in this small village of 1,210 inhabitants, straddling the Canal Latéral and the Garonne, order, calm and serenity reign. It is naturally a nautical stopover favourable to walks and reverie... Heritage: the parish church Notre-Dame built between 1847 and 1850
