marmande is thethird largest city in the department and has been a sub-prefecture since 1804. It has been built over the centuries since Roman times. This past can be seen in the 13th century Gothic church of Notre-Dame and its Renaissance cloister. The remains of the ramparts, the old streets and the small chapels constitute the heritage of this city on the Garonne. We advise you to stroll in the pedestrian street and to go and see its beautiful Maison de Pierre, today the headquarters of the Tourist Office. Known for its tomatoes, the appellation tomate de Marmande dates back to the 19th century. Between Bordeaux and Toulouse, Marmande is located at the center of a communication network.
