This small village, sunk in the valley of the Cone, is originally the seat of the templière tissue. In the th century, his earth possessions moved under the direction of the Hospitals of Saint-Jean-de-Jerusalem. The center was burnt during the religious wars by Protestants, but only a tower adjacent to the church. The village was large enough to organise fairs and markets regularly and surrounded by ditches and walls, which we still see the door at the gateway to the bridge. Today, the municipality and its environs retain agricultural vitality mainly in sheep farming and milk production. The church of La Garde has frescoes due to the brushes of Nicolas Greschny, a contemporary Estonian painter bathed in Orthodox culture.
