This commune, located on a plateau offering a magnificent view, particularly in Rouergate prefecture, is named after a cousin distant from Clovis whose relic is preserved here. The fortified church of the village was built in the th century. In the th and th centuries, the parishioners, in order to protect themselves from infighting, British invasions and looting, raised the walls, built two towers and transformed the surrounding area into a strong place. The tower tower, very massive, has six floors. Forty pieces were erected above the nave corresponding to the number of families of the time that came there - this is also the case in the church of Inières, a hamlet situated a few km south. The interior of the religious building of Saint-Radegonde consists of a th-century fresco, which represents pilgrims who are preaching to the Holy People to relieve them of their misery, in exchange for their crutch. A statue of Sainte Radegonde and a Reliquary reliquary are also part of the heritage to be discovered. Around the church, a group of houses form an enclosure accessible by a porch. You will see the Renaissance style house with its windows windows surrounded by red sandstone, and another with turret, on the square. But Sainte-Radegonde was also the scene of a tragic episode on August 17, 1944, the last day of the German occupation of Rodez. Thirty hostages were shot by the Gestapo. A stele, on the shooting mound located one kilometre from the village, was erected in memory of the resistance and every year is a commemorative ceremony. In a different register, this commune has recently held a «bio» living room.
