Pradinas is a rural village that has decided not to let itself die. Certainly, there are not as many inhabitants as in the last century, when its onion and pig fairs were very famous. The village is peaceful, but full of tourist interests: a museum and an animal park are the result of the dynamism of the inhabitants and elected officials of the village. Trace of the past, the church dates from the 15th century: it has a vast nave and very beautiful stained glass windows. Its right side has a tower, it was used as a granary by the priests who collected the grain. Above the portal is the bust of an abbot who left his mark on the village: Claude Peyrot, an Occitan priest, contributed to the artistic development of the farmers of Pradinas. During the Revolution, he returned to Millau, where he was originally from, and wrote a poem in four songs about the rural life of this region. The castle of Lacombe dates from the 13th century. At that time, it was a "gentilhommière", a fortified farm belonging to a small local lord. This castle, which has always remained in the same family, has undergone numerous modifications over the centuries, notably in the 19th century with the addition of towers. In the hamlet of Castelnau, to the east of the village, one can see a ruined tower, which was used as a lookout. The village of Lescure-Jaoul (about 15 km west of Pradinas) has a small museum of the forge and of the old rural life (open July and August from Tuesday to Saturday from 3 to 7 pm and by appointment all year long, admission 2 €, 1 € reduced rate) (tel) 05 65 81 82 10.
