Dabo is best known for its rock, perched at an altitude of 664 meters. Colossal and imposing, in medieval times it was occupied by a fortified castle called Dagsburg. Today, vestiges of this period can still be seen, but the site is most famous for its exceptional panorama of the Vosges mountains and its 19th-century chapel, built in honor of a certain Bruno d'Eguisheim. Born in Dabo, he was bishop of Toul before taking the name of Leo IX. Today, many visitors stay at the hotel at the foot of the rock, built from the stones that once made up the mythical rock.
