This ancient Gallo-Roman city, located at the strategic crossroads between Limoges, Saintes and Lyon, has preserved an exceptional heritage: Renaissance and 18th century houses (Louis Jorrand's house, Boëry de Luchat's house), a Romanesque church with its crypt of probably Gallo-Roman origins, the Jacques Lagrange garden, the circular wash-house... The tourist office offers a booklet for a free tour. In the surrounding area, don't miss the Busseau metal viaduct, the first in France, and the Château de la Chezotte. The castles of Chantemille and Massenon are not to be visited.
