The name of the commune of Moutier-d'Ahun means "monastery of Ahun" in Old French. In 997, Boson, Count of the Marche, founded a Benedictine abbey on the banks of the Creuse river, which was subordinate to the abbey of Uzerche. Today it is the cornerstone of this village with an exceptional heritage. Indeed, on the church square, visitors can admire the slabs sealed in the axis of the porch that retraces the history of Moutier-d'Ahun. Without forgetting the Romanesque bridge, typically Limousin, or the oil presses.
