The name of the commune of Moutier-d'Ahun means "monastery of Ahun" in Old French. In 997, Boson, Count of the Marche, founded a Benedictine abbey on the banks of the Creuse river, which was subordinate to the abbey of Uzerche. Today it is the cornerstone of this village with an exceptional heritage.
