In the heart of an agricultural region, bordered by unspoilt beaches, on a fortified medieval site where the Romanesque church still stands, Sainte-Marie is a very natural seaside resort. Compared to neighboring Canet, it's a much quieter, family-friendly place, with a pleasant village atmosphere, even though the population rises sharply in summer. In the middle of the reeds is a small harbor with 450 moorings and 8 floating pontoons. A fitness trail, whose length attracts good joggers, and a seafront promenade are further assets for this charming commune.
