The village is located on a limestone "causse", hence its name; there were lime kilns on this site in the 19th century. It is around the castle, a lordly fortress until the French Revolution, that houses and cellars have been grouped since the 17th century. The main activity of Calce today is that of winegrowing, with 6 private wine cellars and the village's cooperative wine cellar, which has some forty members. Calce, so close to Perpignan and yet out of time. We love the unique atmosphere of this village. Believe us, go and discover it to soak up this energy
