The small village of Ansignan is famous for its Roman bridge-aqueduct. This superb work dating from the 3rd century AD is remarkable for its state of preservation and its curious architecture. Built on the basis of a bridge-siphon which was used to supply water to the Roman villa of Ansinius, it was surmounted in the 9th century by an aqueduct (part visible today). This two-level road, which used to be passable by car, allowed horse-drawn carts to cross the river to reach the village. Just below the arches, a communication channel built into the bridge structure allows you to cross the Agly. Nice walk around the aqueduct
