Built on the circular model of a medieval village formed around the year one thousand, Murviel-lès-Béziers dominates the Orb valley, offering an exceptional panorama. Wrapped around its seigniorial castle, it had five gates which, in the Middle Ages, were located in the ramparts. Classified as being of historical interest, the heart of the village is a beautiful example of medieval architecture with its doors, mullioned windows, alleyways and outside staircases. The Town Hall is worth the detour, nestled in the heart of the castle destroyed in the 12th century and then rebuilt, it is a beautiful building that extends into a vast terrace from where the view escapes to the first foothills of the Pyrenees.
