Situated on a hill overlooking the plains of the Orb and Libron rivers, Corneilhan has always been occupied because of its strategic position There was a proverb in Béziers which said that "the city feared nothing as long as Corneilhan held out". From this defensive past, the village has kept, at the bend in the streets, vestiges of its castle - porch, towers - often enclosed in the houses. Corneilhan is also a land of vines and a stopover on the road to Santiago de Compostela. Under the Languedoc sun, the hillsides are anchored in a terroir whose most beautiful expression comes from the sandy soil. The wines can be tasted in one of the many estates in Corneilhan.
