Val d'Aigoual is a new municipality that brings together Valleraugue and Notre-Dame-de-la-Rouvière but also the very pretty and well preserved mountain village of l'Espérou. Mount Aigoual, the highest peak in the Gard and second highest in the Cevennes with its 1,567 meters, is also attached to it. The region is supported by the ski resort of Prat-Peyrot, and it is also a corner of the country dedicated to transhumance. At the Asclier pass, you can walk on the Pont Moutonnier, the only bridge in Europe built only for the passage of flocks. Surrounded by higher mountains and deep forests, one feels there in the heart of the Cevennes and their beauty.
