At 4 km from Asnière-sur-Oise, this village culminates at 210 m of altitude. It is from this high point that Claude Chappe tested his optical telegraph, in 1793. His signals were captured on the heights of Ménilmontant, via Écouen. A small monument installed in the rue Gabriel-Péri recalls the event. Alluding to the forest of Carnelle that surrounds it, the musician Saint-Saëns who frequented the place would have described the village as "a magnificent jewel in its emerald setting". Another treasure: the dolmen of the Pierre Turquaise. In this 11 m long funerary chamber, piles of skulls corresponding to a hundred individuals were found.
