There is hardly more than 300 inhabitants for this vast agricultural commune of a dozen places and a dozen farms scattered in the countryside. The territory is located on the passage of a Roman road of the Via Agrippa and we see a mention of the village in the 13th century under the name of Vodoi. The village was part of a "separating march" within which the inhabitants were dependent on both the powerful Count of Champagne and the King of France. The village was attached to the crown in 1285, when Philippe le Bel, who had just married Jeanne I of Navarre, became King of France. The Chartreuse mound was mentioned in 1443, the Chantibout mound in 1467. The church was the collation of the bishop of Meaux, while the Benedictine priory of Buhotière or Bonnière was the one of the abbot of Saint-Martin de Pontoise. Today, beautiful historical remains evoke the past of the site. You can see the church of Saint-Médard built in the 12th and 13th centuries, which was nicknamed the Lantern of the Brie. Vaudoy-en-Brie also stands out for hosting a farm where the farmer transforms the flour of his wheat into delicious pasta, under the name Les Briardines.
