This village is appreciated for its quality of life and its surroundings. It is the smallest commune in Val Briard. Yerres River (98 km long) has its source close by and its territory is home to a Natura 2000 area protected for its rich fish fauna and aquatic vegetation offering a variety that has become rare in the Ile-de-France region. The village has just over 600 inhabitants, but stands out for its vitality and the character of its central grassy square shaded by a beautiful avenue of lime trees. It is flanked by a pretty little hall under which many village events take place. Although it no longer has permanent trade, it benefits from the weekly passage of a butcher's lorry, a fruit and vegetable lorry and a bakery lorry. Despite its small size and its limited number of inhabitants, Le Plessis-Feu-Aussoux is characterized by a dynamic community life and a certain animation with regular festive and friendly meetings thanks to the involvement of many volunteers. The town, which sees the GR Pays de l'Yerres, offers a hike integrated to the "Randonner au coeur de la Brie" network starting from the church. This is a bucolic route of 17 km (about 4 hours of walking). In terms of heritage: we admire the beauty and harmony of the church of Saint-Nicolas and the caquetoire, the canopy that houses its entrance porch. There is a polychrome statue of the Virgin and Child from the 18th century. In 2000, the bell of its bell tower, which dates back to 1523, was registered in the inventory of historical monuments. Two prominent people have resided in the town. The first one is Jacques Champion de Chambonnières (1601-1672), harpsichordist at the Court of Louis XIII and of Louis XIV. This friend of the Couperins introduced this family of harpsichordists to the King's Court. Similarly, the landscape painter Jean Commère (1920-1986), lived in Plessis-Feu-Aussoux. He settled in the village in 1954 and lived there until his death. Isabelle Périgault, Mayor of the commune, is also President of the Communauté de Communes of Val Briard.
