This charming, well-preserved village on the banks of the Seine is at its most lively on the first Sunday of each month, when a renowned second-hand market is held under the lime trees of Place Mme-de-Montesson. Outside of these busy days, the narrow streets are full of fine examples of local architecture: thatched cottages in millstone, middle-class residences... The church next to the town hall, with its squat walls and steeply pitched roofs, is typical of the region. Finally, most of the shops have preserved their original storefronts and signs. Rue de Seine leads down to the river banks.
