Bussy-Saint-Georges is a city we love very much, an astonishing mix of a new city with a nicely structured centre crossed by the "routiners" of the RER A who will work in Paris, detonating rural areas still spared, vast pleasant parks for walking, picnics or family fun (parc du Génitoy, skatepark), eco-neighbourhoods with stylish facades.... and religious centres that are becoming national references! Indeed, you should not hesitate to take a walk along Madame de Montespan Alley, in the extension of the Pond of Thrushes: there, you will find for only a few hundred meters: Buddhist temple (Fo Guang Shan France Ch'an), Laotian monastery (Lao Wat Velouvanaram and its welcoming statue representing Quan Am bodhisattva), Islamic centre, and a future synagogue which, without doubt, will definitely make this place a world in itself. These religious buildings can generally be easily visited, provided that they are requested with simplicity, humility and discretion (photos are generally prohibited). In particular the small chapel of Lao Wat Velouvanaram, easily recognizable with its typical red roof, and its altar to the golden Buddha covered with offerings. Bussy-Saint-Georges is constantly developing and changing from year to year, as are the surrounding municipalities (Serris, Montévrain, Chanteloup-en-Brie, etc.). A phenomenon that is not about to stop.
