The village is on land and sea. Its cliffs were used during the Second World War by the occupants to install static anti-aircraft battery units (Flak in German). They were particularly used during Operation Biting, on 28 February 1942, against the British air force, at La Poterie-Cap d'Antifer. A blochkaus from the same period is in balance with the cliff which is undergoing natural erosion. The village still has a dovecote located in its centre.
